The Culture & Historical Commission was awarded a grant from the Town of Belmont to preserve and display the valuable artifacts of the Sons of Italy. These artifacts have been collected over many years, and represent the Italian experiences, including immigration, of many of our members.
This grant will enable us to set up a mini Museum at the Grand Lodge headquarters in Belmont. We have been working with a  Museum consultant, who will be holding four training classes to give us the skills we need to preserve these artifacts so that they do not disintegrate over time. We will be cataloguing the artifacts using special Museum computer software, PastPerfect.
This PastPerfect training will be held on several Sunday afternoons, beginning on October 29. The classes are free and limited to OSIA members who have some basic computer skills and an interest in helping with this worthwhile project after the training. Please contact lodge for more information.
